for that kinda money you need to be using it daily
we cannot justify heavy plant due to lack of storage etc. and a couple of days a month wouldnt justify the costs involved
if we dont need it on a weekly basis then we hire it

I agree, i would probably be better off owning my own plant rather than hiring in, as we have stuff on hire around 70% of the time usually a 1.5 or a 3 t machine. Even if i borrowed the money the re-payments would be less than what i am paying monthly in hire costs.

that price was for the kx series.

always a hard call to buy plant in the current climate. we've got work for it until the end of the year, but who knows whats in store next. then again its painful having to constantly write cheques to the plant hire boys for kit you don't own yourself.

the biggest issue is that the tsunami has artificially increased the cost of plant
for me personally any plant has to pay for itself in 3 months
so a 600 quid demolition hammer yes
a 400 quid laser level yes
but to pay 15 k for a digger that needs a trailer ,servicing insuring etc etc. when i can rent a 3 tonner plus driver for £350 a day,for the maybe 20 days per year i need one does not add up
I would love to have a secure 5 acre yard with every tool known to man,but you need to justify it
anyone doing utilities or civils 24/7 it would probably work for

why buy plant when you can get a digger and driver for 200 a day all in, plus the driver will be fully insured, have experience and will be safe on site...

The way I look at it is, will the tool (plant) pay for itself...?. If you feel it will go for it. :)

£14,600 +VAT for digger, if you buy it at the right time you get your VAT back instantly. Take out a loan to buy it, monthly repayments of £150? Pays for itself if you have somewhere to store it.

we had a js220 22 tons on hire for 4 months when sheet pilling that big house, with transport etc and other charges cost best part of £12k should have bought one and then sold it at end of job, probably would have got our money back. that was a big lesson...

the "U" series kubota 1.7ton with canopy is 15k

got a price as well for replacing 3CX, which bought new for 35k 4 yrs ago. trade in price now-23k.

excellent residual value, only prob is, i have to give the dealer 20k for new 3CX to slightly better spec than the machine it replaces.

Hi,

The digger is still available for sale, it is in very good condition. I have worked in UK for the last few years and I've purchased the digger there.
My company wanted me back home, so currently I'm in Torino Italy and the digger is currently here with me.
I can ship the digger with trailer from here directly to your address, where abouts are you?
I look forward to your reply
Regards

HI,
I can use a specialized shipping company who will provide you a tracking number( to verify online the shipment status) and also a 48hrs inspection period and the right to decline the digger if it doesn`t satisfy your needs 100%.The delivery will take max 2-3 days.
I`ve used this company in the past and I was very satisfied with their services. They acted very professional and at very affordable costs.
They offer an escrow service to make both sellers and buyers satisfied with their services and help - protect both of them in equal proportion.
If you agree on the terms and you want to proceed further with the purchase please send me your full name and address/ contact phone number and if available also a fax number to make the shipping reservation onto your name and with your shipping address as the intended receiver of the digger.
I am sure you will simply love the digger and there won`t be any problems with the sale.
I look forward to your reply
Regards

That plus VAT?

Which places did you try for prices?

edit: Just saw your 2nd post. If it were me I wouldn't touch it just to be sure.
