Used to wear Scruffs tornado's, now we get everything from engelbert Strauss in Germany, trousers, jackets, jumpers, t shirts all embroidered and a reasonable price, never had a pair of boots last longer than a year

i think we can all agree that no boots are going to withstand the abuse that we give them
thats why i go for the £25 ones, if i paid £150 i wont get 3 years out of them,cement rots stitching and most of us work with cement at some time

had 2 pairs cookie and neither lasted 6 months, they are waterproof but you have only got to catch them on a scaffold fitting or such and they are gone
i wear jogging bottoms now,cotton t-shirts and a fleece when its cold, use PPE for dust ,noise and eyes but cant get used to gloves
I have had a pair of sundowner safety glasses for 6 months now and very happy with them

Yeah our boots are only about £25 never spent more than £40 on a pair and even found that hard to justify on a work pair, decent gloves are what we struggle to find tried most pairs but nothing lasts more than a few days laying blocks.

I get abuse from the old guy I work with for wearing gloves. He is 55 and never worn them, hands like leather,rips out thorny bushes etc bare handed.

I can see his point!
I dont often wear gloves, only on a cold winters day, and your hands dont half toughen up.
Its a nightmare when I get use to wearing gloves for a few weeks though, as you end up not being able to do anything without them!

We used to have a lad work with us who would never wear gloves when laying blocks, 2 days later he had no finger prints left and his hands were so sore he struggled to pick anything up. Sometimes they get in the way but for laying blocks I always wear them.
