i've decided on a Toyota Hiace 120 300.

For what its worth, my mate had one from new back in 2000, and it was faultless for the enitre 7 years he owned it.
We never did understand why it had two batteries though!

I had a second hand 95-reg Hiace which I bough in 2004. Engine-wise it worked faultlessly. The side door used to fall off if you weren't careful opening it and the back door had to be tied down with a piece of string - so the body fell apart after years of abuse. Then, in early 2006, someone nicked it. I was told it probably got nicked and shipped to Nigeria for use as a taxi. That someone would nick a heap like that is a good advert for Hiace reliability. Hiaces are used all over Africa as taxis and I have been told Hiace stands for High Impact African Culling Equipment.
