Ok so contractor has been out and says he will lift area and install a concrete biscuit over soakaway....he will also look at ridge and low spots....would ridge come out with the use of the wacker?
Thanks again guys....as always a great resource.

the ridge wont wack out. needs lifting both side of ridge and screeding again, but that wont cure the water laying on the whole driveway , my idea would be to lift and relay the whole area and start afresh .as you will never make a job buy lifting small patches,
the chances are the ridge was made because he did not screed it going with the fall, so had 2 angles,to correct it you would have to lift 3m ish to lose the hump and not create a hole

^^ as marks said
even to do small repairs its best to lift a large area so you can screed properly
I have the same problem as you on my own drive where i only had 40mm of fall over 6 M so when it rains hard the water lays a little bit
