I've had a quote to replace the drive from a local company and it came in at 800 quid including a small extension to make the area 16m2? Thats to take up existing blocks and sand, supply new blocks and sand, fit and remove all waste. Reasonable price?

its recommended best practice to reduce the cases of silicosis i.e silica dust getting on your lungs and doing some serious damage.
so if you can its advised to wet cut with a 2 stroke cut off saw alternatively called a "stihl saw"
if not get a good respirator not the paper cup over the mouth type

we use pp3 respirators now when dust is unavoidable
I.e. today knocking out a chimney breast with breakers
hard to suppress with water there
