It's a W-block, which are rarely used in Britain and Ireland. A couple of the bigger manufacturers hold the licence to manufacture this format (and the similar S-block) but they aren't interested in making less than around 1,000m² and so they tend to be used on larger commercial projects and manufactured to order.

I get at least 2 emails per week asking for these blocks. Existing areas need extending or repairs are required and contractors need maybe 10m² but just can't get hold of them. A batch of salvaged W-blocks became available last year and I persuaded a landscape supply specialist (Russell @ Ruscrete in Southampton, if you must know) to buy them up as he could store them in his yard and get at least 25 quid per m² for them, as they are such a scarce commodity. I don;t know if he has any left, but I know I've referred at least a dozen people to him over the summer.

Wow, thanks for all your help guys! That's a lot more info than I had hoped for! They do look very similar to cemex readypave ready loc, I'll see if I can get hold of some and see if they match
:D

As it turns out, I think we can rearrange whats there and use an alternative or plain concrete in one of the areas so we might even have some spare. It sounds like I should hold onto them for future use of sale then...

Thanks again for your help :)

had to watch approx 10-15m2 go off these to land fill today despite ringing Russell to see if he was interested (which due to being start of season and new lines arriving he wasn't.) breaks my heart to see stuff getting dumped especially when I know some one else is desperate for them. hay ho.
