i have added some 15mm led lights into the kerb to provide a sort of night light on the drive, not sure if i like them now there in or if im goin to end up having planes trying to land in my front garden! lol

You have done a great job as i see it mate and well done you must feel proud that it has turned out as it has and i am hoping to get that feeling when mine is finished as i'm at the sanding stage now.
Love the LED lighting very nice.

thanks mate, its hard work but like you say its a great feeling as you complete each stage, you get a sense of pride as you complete each stage! the neighbours must of thought i had lost the plot but you cant help but stand there and smile after you have shoveled in and levelled out 20t of mot1! lol
i have had a look at your pics and plans mate, its looking good i bet you cant wait to see it complete!
im sure you will agree this site is a great source of info, so a big thanks to everyone who helped me complete my project

thanks mate, the led lights i got from B&Q pack of 10 for £29 there 15mm recessed.

do you think the lights look effective or a bit too much?

hi mate, i used 2 lenghts of 20mm steal conduit bedded into the sand and the drew a piece of timber along them, i done the screeding in bits and laid the blocks on the screeded area as i went along, as you move along you use your finger to make a groove in the sand and pull the conduit along and then use the loose sand to fill the voids left by the conduit. i set up string lines to establish my levels and you can use a spirit level placed on top of the conduit to check that your levels are looking good.
I think the conduit method is probably going to be the easiest option for a diy project!
