Paving a sloping drive - Which pattern?

Never, ever underestimate the bullshit that some so-called contractors will spout if they think it makes them sound as though they know what they're doing.

With regard to sloping sites, I've previously heard that block paving can't be used at all; that only the standard blocks, and not tumbled blocks, can be used; and that the blocks have to be jointed with mortar because sand jointing would fall out.
