I used to break stuff down but now i just specify plant labour and materials in three sections then a total at the bottom and thats it.

If you price a 20m driveway and they pay for their 20m driveway then anything else is yours as they havent paid for it. left overs etc.

I agree. Mostly.

Mind you there are occasions where I'm happy for the customer to keep the leftovers. If the job is miles away and the truck is packed with kit the last thing you need is a return trip to collect leftovers.

Sometimes we are asked for labour & plant/material split for CIS returns but thats as far as it goes.

Excavated material from nuclear sites is the best, just load up onto their rolo skips and it's their problem/responsibility, we don't get involved with it
