If it helps any, when my parents moved from Australia the Scotland they didn't have to pay any tax on the money they brought over.

It's unlikely you're due any tax here because it's money earned in another country and you've probably got non dom status. If you come home via the Isle of Man you can bank it there and then withdraw it throughout the UK .

Are you resident in the UK or Angola? Or do you have a permanent residence in the UK? If you have residence in the UK, you might be investigated for tax avoidance if you have it paid through Angola. Personally, I'd have it paid into a UK account for transfer to an Angolan bank account and register your tax interests there.
Look at Starbucks, if someone like that wont pay int eht UK, I take that as an indicator that the UK tax regime is just for the natives. :cool:
