Agreed Giles, never use the crap myself. Also seen some proper crpa "crusher run" too!

Hardcore gives me the impression of half broken bricks, slabs and all the shit that gets mixed in with it lol etc etc

Type1 or 803 is what we call stone.

http://www.yourdiyshop.com/spear-j....-2540huI'm 6ft 5 and the spade reaches my stomach and the long tail my arm pit. The shovel is great for digging in good ground or for shoveling out what the spade has broken up in the trench the spade is also great for busting small rocks and concrete. Short tools destroy me but I can go all day with these and still feel fresh. The spade is at the bottom on the same link although they're both about a tenner more than we pay over here for them.

Pablo, cheers mate, I'm gonna order one of those spades. As I said, we already have an Irish Shovel, and we have Grafter spades, but they have no handles and are to heavy for anything but post digging, but that looks like my idea of a spade.
Always meant to try and get a longer handle to my mattock and pick, but never seem to spot anything with enough strength.
One of the midgets that I employ said the best thing for me to do would be to dig a trench next to where I'm working and then me spade would be the right length, fair point !!:p

Aye but the ladies love a big un like me Tony. The ground is definately to far away though I can't lay paying standing up so have to work off my knees which is why I wear the pads in my trousers with another gel filled set on top of them.

I can't lay flags standing up either. Ladies love that I'm comfortable kneeling for 8 hours though
