I find Yellow Pages gives me a good % of enquiries.

At home we do not posses a Yellow Pages or Phone book, do it all online now.

To be honest 99% of our work is through recommendation.
I get 2/3 leads a week from advertising an I can only recall getting 2 jobs out of it since Christmas.
I've stopped pricing the block paving as some idiot round here is doing it for £40sqm.

Dave

Do you pay for yell? If so does it pay?

Yell/Yellow Pages etc costs me about £1800/yr

I'd say the majority of our work is through recommendation and/or local knowledge of us - but we do get a fair few leads from Yell advertising - and I'm fairly successful in converting these quotes to jobs.

We are on the local Highways list of Approved Contractors for Streetworks etc - we get a few leads from there for the dropped kerb works, which in turn leads to the driveway work too.

We're also lucky enough to run some pretty eye-catching wagons which do get noticed around locally, many people say "Oh, I saw your lorries going though town the other day" - big name, phone number and web address on them is all you need.

That the wagon on you're website? Looks good. That's what you need a good eye catcher.

What's it like on juice/repairs?

Must be standing beside the pallets of monoblocks and throwing them at the grass to do it for that price. Probably costs about £30 per m2 in materials, skip, digger hire etc alone.

Leeds. That's for the driveline 50's

Tegulas seem to be from £60

I can think of 2 gangs who beat me every time. Both have foreign workers + the finished drive is always about 50mil high at street level:D
