well i have drilled the last hole today. Customer told me the hedge and fence was there before the two houses, so no services.
ground was so hard, the auger didn't really bite, and the teeth were getting a bit worn .
However, we pulled out a concrete ball from an old post (not on the same line as the fence) and re drilled it to sink a new post in its place, and at the bottom, a grey plastic pipe carrying the bt cable! luckily the auger ripped off the plastic pipe, but left the cable in place., and if that wasn't enough, a hand dig in the back garden to insert a concrete repair spur, discovered a gas pipe, that some clown had concreted round when the did the fence!
luckliy we didn;t use the breaker on it!
always expect the unexpected!
