it is indeed the police hen
as a rule I dont talk to the police, but when some idiot endangers my 8 year old daughter and my 12 year old 3kg dog its better for them if the police get involved
I struggled not to lose it with the husband last night, but a dad is no good if he is locked up
I will leave it to the police, if he had been in any way remorseful it would have swayed me,but to basically tell me that dogs are dogs just doesn't do it

Sounds like a proper tosser LLL. As you say if he had come round with the right attitude then you might have let it go. The fact that he was a prick means he's not learnt any lessons from it and doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself. The next poor sod who comes across this idiot and his dogs may come off a lot worse

I own an 85kg English mastiff that only gets let off his lead when I can see no other dog walkers about on 12 square miles of waste land near mine that is a former colliery. If another dog appears I call him back, and put him on lead no probs as he’s well trained. As Carberry I go out in my work gear and boots and take a heavy walking stick, it shocks me the amount of other walkers that don’t have the same curtsy of calling back there dog and confront me after there dog has had a twat on the head after attacking mine. Luckily mastiff’s are very protective of there owners, so when some chav starts waving its arms about and shouting at me my dog sits in front of me and sounds his un-ignorable bark and that’s always the end of it.
I’m well aware of the bad press mastiffs have gained over the last few years, English mastiffs are not to be confused with bull mastiffs!

as has been said report it in a cool calm way fully documenting it and the husky and the german shepherd need to be destroyed, owner wants suing for your dog injures, your injuries, inconvenience and time off work, once they've bitten a human thats it im sorry, countryside they'd be getting a barrel each from a 12 gauge.
local farmer shot a husky the other day from some ppl staying at the carvan site on his farm, says dogs on leads at all times etc.
we have always had irish wolfhounds, huge dogs but harmless lovely dogs and wouldnt hurt a soul, my mum was in one of our fields at the back of our barn with murphy our previous wolfhound and a dog got in and set about him, was like a bull dog/staffy cross i heard my mum screaming and whacking at it with her lead i grabbed the nearest thing and set off up the field and gave it one good crack with a shovel and it let go with a whimper, Murphy had to have 15 stitches and the other dogs owner nearly got more when he was threatening to call the police on me, in my our own field, doubt his dog was upto much again after a mini graft whack square on the head.
hope your dog is ok, and not emotionally scarred from it all tony.

I agree with Giles, i no of many farmers shooting dogs round my way, they shouldnt be on his land anyway, even worse with no lead, and if there is live stock in the field, its game over for the dog in most cases.
If reported the dog that bit you will be destroyed, im sure.

I chat with a few hunting guys ,one had his spaniels in the back of his landy ready to go out. Some old tw*t careered off the road into a lamppost on his Puch 50. He made a claim stating that the dog got out of the back of the vehicle and made him crash. Total bollox, but the guy admitted to the dog being unleashed, the insurers said 'sorry. your fault' so theres some legislation regarding unleashed dogs, Im sure its not law, but there has to be some sort of recourse.

Always wanted one of them, doubt I can get one though. Farmer I rent my yard from isn't a fan of big dogs. Had a tantrum when I brought a rottweiler in.

george even brought it back
they dont mess about in the country, shoot first, ask later
shame we cant do it with the chavs over my local park and their staffs

That’s a shame berry, most people expect huge dogs like English mastiffs to be nasty and aggressive, and that couldn’t be further from the truth.

sadly Ken my last hossie visit was from an english mastiff ,that and i quote the client" has never bitten anyone"
till i turned up with a drawing and scale rule in my hand and he took 7 stitches out of my leg
I still see the lady and " Joe" and I have made it up now,he was around 65kg at the time, and she reckons the drawing made him do it
no consolation from yours truly

TBH ,I cant see the leash law being enforced because we dog walkers find more bodies than the police ever did

yeah from the previous dog :;):
i think all dogs muzzled in public would be do-able
I agree with dogs being allowed to run etc.
but is 1 human life worth a million dogs?
dogs main attack weapon is their jaws ,if they are protected they are pretty much impotent
paul at works brother was attacked by his neighbors doberman 10 years ago,his front door looked on to the neighbours back gate and 1 of the kids had left it open
the dog which was 5 and had never bitten anyone attacked him dragging him to the ground,he had 140 stitches to the legs ,groin and arms
he said the worst bit was when the dog was trying to get to his throat
anyway the owner had the dog destroyed an hour later
its just a shame that the irresponsible 2% tar all dog owners
for some reason round here polish people (not being racist = but its always them) do not feel its up to them to pick up their dog shite,
I pointed this out to one fella after his dog had left a pile of steaming poo on the pavement outside my house and he came back and cleared it,but on the hole its not in their nature
