2 large tri folds on the kitchen jut out we tanked it, then installed linear drains on the main patio infront of the doors, the step takes us back 150mm below dpc for the path so you get a seamless transition from kitchen to patio
brickies been working for us best part of 20 yrs now almost like my uncles expect them gamble and drink alot more haha

Giles, what's going on with the rugby pitch. Are you putting drainage in then replacing it?
If you were just re levelling ans seeding, then a blec stoneburier is surely the answer

Hi Giles,
How are you going to fininsh the footings at that depth? Mass trench fill, a small concrete strip then foundation trench block or concrete strip and blockwork?
I would not like being down at that depth laying blocks...
Wonder if the BCO would be after you throw him in...?

its nearly all trench fill now carl
the days of 30 course of bricks in the footings are long gone
concrete is cheaper than brickwork so concrete it is

just mass fill, too dangerous to have lads laying at that depth
going to chuck about 25m in bring it up to about 800 below damp.
he let us step the footing so, its 2.3m deep all the way along the back and 5 metres up each side then in steps up to 1.7m then 1.4 then the front strip footing furthest from the trees is at 1.1m.
