i was laying block laid flat to form the back wall of our then new barn, had the radio on in the telehandler and they said on 5 live that a plane had crashed into the twin towers, we shrugged it off as like a 2 seating crashing into even joked about the retard pilot, then they said a second had crashed we legged it into the house got sky news and bbc news on the two big tellies and sat there for 3 hours, folks were in remote spain and didnt believe me when i rang them.

i was 19 then and had been lucky enough to go to the top of tower two when i was 12 in new york for a friends wedding

interesting piece on how the whole thing was planned to draw america into an unwinable war to create more anti american hate and to cost america lots of money.....

What channel was that on Giles if thats what they wanted they certainly succeeded I don't think anyone could have imagined how poorly judged and thought out America's reaction would be. Speaking to some American friends they themselves struggle to see where and why Iraq came into it. The UK by proxy has been financially ruined by it all too. The only real winners are Arms manufacturers and in time the oil and gas companies. Some mates who are still serving were telling me a story of a 4hr contact they had with the Taliban where they used over 15million pounds worth of ordanance .

I was block paving a drive in the pissing down rain in Warrington. We were listening to radio 1 and that’s the only time I ever heard Chris Moyles being sensible and sensitive on the radio.

I was building a retaining wall in Bradford or is that Bra't'ford When the customer called me in. We were stood there watching the news of the first strike on the towers. The news reporter had her back to the burning tower, talking to the studio back in London, when the second plane hit. They had to tell her what had just happened behind her back!

Showing my age now... When I was a young Parkie. I remember being in the cabin at snap time. The street sweeper that shared our hut came in and said women were crying in the streets...Elvis had just died :-/

rumours went round school that if the war went on we would be conscripted at 15 :;):

I was filling in a large pond in an old lady`s back garden. She wanted it to be a planted area..Looked really good too! Then I heard it on the radio from the van.
Must have been just after the 1st plane hit, because i remember the live update when the second one went in.

I try not to dwell on the past, there's to much happening at present and who knows what the future may hold.
