You need the heavest plate you can move around, small plates mean more passes to get compaction,big plate less passes job done quicker more money in the skyrocket,if you what quality to do the job buy a wacker, if you want a cheapy get it from ongabonga land on ebay MSH

same as myself i have a diesel one made buy wacker,great compaction cost me £1600 10 years ago, great buy never let me down MSH

saw some rail lads working on the line near us, they had 3 yanmar diesel plates fasten together to go either side and between the rails nice bit of kit
cant find a photo but they do a remote control beast haha
