Hi Folks
What a great website it inspired me to do a bit of paving, 18 sq/m of Indian sandstone. Flags are layed on concrete with 20-30mm sharpsand/cement bedding. Job was going well until I did the pointing. I used sharpsand/cement 4 to 1 semi-drymix with a touch of plasticiser. Joints vary between 8-14mm. I packed the pointing into the joints.
I did this yesterday which was quite hot day so after pointing I used a water spray bottle to dampen the mix. 24 hours later I find that the pointing hasnt set hard still loose. Can anyone shed any light waht has gone wrong please?
Thanks
Dry pointing

Thanks, confirmed my suspicions. MSH I had read that section but decided to go with a dry mix, what do I know`! So it looks as if it needs re-doing with a wet mix or could I get away with a dry mix if I give the flags a good hosing down the night before so as there is plenty of moisture to set of hydration?
Not look forward to re-doing my sodding back is killing me
