Domestic driveway resurfaced following damage by builders - this is what your driveway finish should look like.

Thanks Dave_L. Mine did look like that on the one side but the one corner of the driveway was very bad. Now wheel indentations are all over it but only obvious to the eye when it rains or you step into a 'rut'.

What should I expect to pay to have an area of 6m squared done properly?

It looks like the driveway chap is prepared to go to extreme measures to stop me taking legal action. I have to consider my family, vehicle and property so probably pay out again :(

is this chap a traveller? does he have an address which is bone fide? I would get him round, and look to see if he has a good look at your bollards. it may not be him..

No, he is a local guy and lived here for a long time.

I threatened legal action in an email. 10:45pm he replies to say he will pop round asap and then contact me. Next morning I find glue in the locks. It will be one of the many young lads working for him.

CCTV to go up now. I've put a webcam up short term and had a car appear to drive into cul de sac, from car look over at bollards and drive off.

Oh dear, not good - is it worth putting yourself and your family *at risk* for this? I know it goes against principles but for everyone's good, I'd probably have to put it down to experience and have it put right myself.

Since the email "I'll pop round and take a look asap and then contact you", the security bollard locks were glued. I haven't heard anything from him.

I am aware that he has told other local trades people that he can't get his money off me. What an numpty as the one I talked to said he wouldn't have him to do any work for him. CCTV is now installed and operational so some peace of mind.

It's pretty obvious he (the driveway man) had bodged the tarmac as he didn't answer my questions relating to the overall dig depth. tarmac depth and make up. More sinking of car wheels has happened as of yesterday.

I fully agree with you Dave_L. This will be put down to naivety and lack of experience. I've learned a great deal from this forum so thank you guys.

Any chance someone could give me an idea of what a 6m square area of tarmac done properly should cost? Also any tips on finding a reputable tarmac company - B46 area.
