Stop cock - Where do you get them from

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

Hi All,

I have had to move and install the main water supply coming to my house. ( due to extension ) We have a shared main due to the house being built just after the war.

I have instaled a new stop cock just to the exterior of the new building but i cant seem to find anyone who sells the inspection covers so i can gain future access.

I dont want to bury the valve for obvious reasons, neither do i want to go out one night and remove someone elses "As advised by one builders merchant"

Are these things only available from United Utillities ? or is there a source for them ?

Thanks,

Mick.

Hi Mick
AsTony quite often says...
Try a decent civils merchant such as CooperClarke, Burdens or UGS

I was in need of underground ducting last year the local BM's only had underground drain. I was behind a Burdens lorry one day, made a note of the phone number then went and visited the local branch. What don't they stock !!
So a good chance they will have a cover for you.
They are on the web as well.

Kevin.
