Whats easy to fix to wont warp will last outside?

Im a big kid at heart and I like an ebay bargain so im putting a train track in my garden but im a bit stuck as to what to fix it to don't want to go mad and lay concrete the whole length also it would be trickier to fix to so was thinking decking maybe but would it warp if it was only fixed down every 2-3 feet ?

is it a ride on one?
if so why not use railway track ballast and some sleepers for that authentic look

no just a little G gage one not got enough space or money for a ride on

When I built a g scale layout in the past we used medium density blocks laid end on end with the track screwed into each block. we also made a viaduct and the track bed was gravel boards, that lasted 2 years without any warping. it probably would have lasted longer but the whole layout was dismantled.

we worked for a well known local hardman a few years ago
anyway we were all on best behaviour and after a few days he warmed to me

"'ere tone come an' av' a look at dis" he said and ushered me upstairs

with some trepidation I followed, and then on to the loft

the whole loft was decked out and there must have been 100ft of train tracks churches,mountains stations you name it

Somewhere, back in the deepest darkets bowels of the Brew Cabin, is a series of posts from a guy who built his own railway in his large garden and made a really good job of it. Probably 10 years ago, possibly even longer, but it sticks in my miind for being an ultra-professional job, and I'm sure he was using CMUs on a simple concrete bed/plinth.

I never did go around for a go with it!

Get some plastic deckboards to put the track on. Solway recycling do some sheets of plastic you could cut for the curves

how bigs the sheet ? tried one place local when I got some fence last week and it was £98 for a 8x4 sheet !
