Hello everyone!

I am in need of some advice, I have a detached edwardian property of which the rear elevation is 15M in length. To one side there are french doors with two steps (total height about 600mm) leading down to a patio at garden level. To the other side of the rear elevation, there is a bay with a window in it, into which I would like to place another set of french doors. My wife and I have been thinking of rather than having steps leading down from both sets of doors to a patio at garden level, we would like to construct a raised patio (stone paving on hardcore etc held in by retaining walls) at the 600mm above garden level, running along about 10M of the rear elevation, stepping down into the garden, much further out. Obviously this would involve a considerable breech of the dpc (about 150mm above garden level) and we would like to know if it is a) Possible? and b) If so, how can it be constructed without causing problems with damp?

Thanx!
