I put a drain at the bottom of our flagged garden about 5 years ago, it has a pea trap and the water runs into the waste public sewage pipe. The drain is made of plastic
My problem is I have 5 Labradors who naturally use the garden as a toilet, i often swill the wee away with water as the garden all slopes towards this drain, the thing is the standing water in the drain smells, i've tried cleaning it out, using jeyes fluid & other stuff etc, but the smell is still there.
Would a clay drain & pea trap solve this problem.

Nope - the probelm isn't the type of material used for the pipes and fittings, but with the dog piss itself. Your only viable option is to wash down the whole yard with water and jeyes Fluid every day and eventually, the problem should ease.

Try finishing your wash down with a final rinse of
fabric conditioner (dont laugh) about 1 cup to a bucket of cold water either straight down the drain or over the yard first.
Also works on kennel floors and house carpets and unlike a lot of cleaners will not poison your dogs through their paws.:D
