The fact that those Lympix, which are only the wintry ones after all, cost more than 4 times what it cost for the London Lympix, which featured all the usual sports, tells you all you need to know about backhanders, dodgy dealings and oligarchs in Russia.

It just makes you wonder how they continue to get away with it all - does the population at large just not give a toss?

I dont think they have a say. I'd assume its really more like the Russia we imagine rather than the 'Westernised' version we see on TV.
Our 'great and good' are so far in cahoots with them Putin has just waltzed in and took Crimea without one shot being fired. London property under pinned by Rubles, Frances weapons sales mainly Russian and the Dollar is so fragile, the USA cant afford to poke a stick at them. Nice move Mr Putin I must say.

Ukraine can shut off the fuel, all the pipelines go through their land. Obama is by no means the most powerful, but Merka has set themselves up as 'World Police' (but only when there's a profit)
