Hello, new here!

I am currently digging the footings for my kitchen extension and after about half a metre of clay, it's now just sand. As the concrete foundation is supposed to go on top of clay, I'm wondering what to do as the sand seems to go on forever :(

Any advice greatly appreciated. :)

Your building contol officer will determine the depth of dig for you
