Hello all, advice needed please.
I'm 'planting' a pergola outside the patio doors, I'm using 6"x6" posts for a chuncky look. Two have gone in ok by the house but on digging the hole for the third I discovered what seems to be the end of the clay soakaway pipe for the roof gutter. This is only about 3.5m from the house and 'the end' is broken by some bricks. The water just seems to seep into the soil as there is no dedicated 'soakaway' that I can see.
The problem being I need to put the post here, can I cut back repare and re-route the pipe and make a dedicated dispersal area for the water? Am a bit restrickted because I have already put the deck frame down plus I can only go sideways and not any further away. There doesn't seem to be a problem with drainage (so far) so I don't want to go mad with any massive holes.
How do I stand on building regs etc.
Cheers.
