It seemed ages ago but I asked a question about laying Slabs/Flags which Tony was kind enough to reply to and give some great suggestions, Unfortunately a few Gardening programs on the TV and Her indoors changed her mind and decided on pavers. I have just finished, not up to the "Pros" standard but I am please with the results and all due to Tony.
It can be seen at,

All due to Tony and this excelent web Site.

Very many thanks to Tony.

Not a bad job at all

You say not as good as the pros Believe me, it is a lot better than most so called professional contractors I have come across.

Couple of points

Would it not have been better to slope from the garage to the front door area rather than creating a step / trip hazard.

You say you filled 6 skips. The skip you have in the foto looks like a 3yd Skip. It would have been a lot cheaper getting 2 No. 8yd skips. ( about £220 )

Other than my points, job well done.

Another Golden Star for Tony

Hi Nigel.

Many thanks for the comments. Unable to create a slope from Garage Door to Door Step as I had to build the retaining wall due to the Fall required away from the House as it would have been well above damp course. I know what you mean but the pictures are deceiving. There is a slight slope taking the water away from this area and out onto the main drive. The skip was a “Midi size. The reason for this size was the space to fit it in the garden, and I knew the guy at the Hire place and got a good deal ( A few beers ) and the deal was only for a “Midi skip.

As you say, another Gold Star for Tony.

With the amount of beers owed to him he could get Pi$$ed for ever
