Retaining wall weep holes - I've got a scanned pdf diagram....

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

...I want to let y'all see a diagram I've drawn and scanned as a pdf file  but don't know how to post it here. Are there instructions anywhere ?

I see Tony's photograph instructions although I don't have a photograph for this right now, but if I did, can I use my Picassa Google web albums as the URL or is that one of those sites which is 'not allowed' ?

Thanks fellas - didn't realise you could put drawing in pdf files on the web same as photos. So lets try this....

https://plus.google.com/photos....ner=pwa

...and it didn't work ("you are not allowed to use that image extension on this board" ...)

So what do I have to do to get a simple drawing here ?

Thanks Mick. I see LLL is a moderator so maybe he'll pick it up from here.

But Tony, let me know what I'm doing wrong so I can do it next time. When the pictures are up (there are two..) I'll put my questions about them.

(I'll be out all day Saturday at football ....(Wolves v Brentford !).

the link above forced me to log in to my google plus account but it did not give me permission to view the photo, like Giles said you need to use some other means of hosting the photos so they can be viewed by everyone

Thanks for all the efforts fellas - I just changed the drawings to public so anyone in theory should be able to view now.

Hope that did the trick .....

now that we can see them peter ,what is the question?

personally i feel the blue diamonds and the flint panels make the wall too busy
I would say go for 1 or the other

regarding the weepholes 50mm waste pipe works well in practise, those little slot ones can be easily blocked

cheers LLL

No one has ever asked to upload a PDF previously, which is why they aren't on the 'nice' list.

They are now!

As LLL has said, a fall on the weep pipes would help prevent them silting-up, and the "stone" you have shown as backfill needs to be "clean", which means no fines. A clean gravel, A10 pipe bedding or Type 3 sub-base would do the trick.

Here are all my revised drawings on my Google picassa page..

https://plus.google.com/photos....ner=pwa

But when I put the [img] brackets in it tells me ...

"You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. A valid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.gif, an invalid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.one.gif"

This is very hard work... I thought you said you'd sorted it Tony McC ... ??
