I've been asked to quote to dig trench for water main and just wondered how long you would think it would take and what I should charge? 15lm 750mm deep. 10m in lawn 5m in crazy paivng.

by hand bodge?
if so 1 skip 2 blokes 1 day to dig for me thats £450 +vat
then another day plus material to backfill and make good

can it not be moled?
prolly cost around £300 all in?

put boards down and backfill with material that comes out

youll need sand in t he bottom of the trench and stick some blue water main warning tape at 300mm up from it to help us groundworkers out :)

Do you know what the ground is like?

15m in sandy soil or cowbelly clay is a doddle, but 15m through boulder clay will eff-up your wrists on a hand dig!
