Hi, dug up old drive down to clay, put membrane down then about 6" of dolomite.Rained heavy over the next couple of days. Hired a forward reverse compacter.
Now it's bouncy. It seems compacted down to the membrane but is moving around on top of it.
I can't go to next step because it's moving so much.
Their is a walk way down the side of the house which I didn't put any membrane down which was on shale backfill then dolomite and this has compacted down solid.
Should I leave it to dry out or take it all up.
Really stuck and cheesed off.
This is my first time but have tried to do things right?
Please help.

What is a problem today won't be a problem in a weeks time when it has dried out. You'll be fine. Patience is the key here.

Will have a look to see if I still have the label but it was a geotextile fabric from Travis Perkins.
" Can be used in filtration or stabilisation applications
Prevents the mixing of construction layers
Ideal for used under gravel driveways
Can be used as a filter in drainage"
I used it to give a bit more stability, trying to help prevent sinking of block paving. I was down to clay and it probs wasn't necessary but trying to do a good job. It doesn't seem to be moving around on top of it after looking at it. The doli just seems to have taken water like a sponge. It seemed a bit better today but still has a long way to go???

The geo-textile sounds fine. Occasionally, I see and hear of jobs where an impermeable sheet such as visqueen has been used, but this looks like an authetic permable separation membrane.
The dolomite, being limestone by another name, will gradually dry out and then almost 'set' of its own volition, becoming as hard as iron. Just give it a week!
