Have a feeling ive just been royally stiffed for some granite setts.

Ive purchased 1 tonne bag of silver granite 100x200 by 150 deep setts. I believe the guy called them random as there are a few other odd ball "lengths" of sett in there also.

And i bought 2 tonne bags of black/blue granite setts in the same size as above, this to be delivered to site next weds.

In my experience granite cubes are twoapenny, but the longer ones such as these are a pain to find so as he didnt have much left and the rest where marked as sold i chanced it and handed the cash over.

I feel to embarrassed to say how much i paid first off, lets see if you guys can get close.

I paid cash...... and well you know what that means, so cheaper still.

So....how much would you pay?

I was actually playing with some new 200 by 100 by 100 deep setts in butterfield last week
they are a lot more than £50 a tonne and rough as arseholes
i would have thought more like £150 a tonne down here dan
all depends on condition

Are these new 603 silver granite or reclaimed Wicklow/Cornish granite?

If new, are they cropped, sawn or some other secondary finish?

150 deep is a bit OTT unless you're doing a city centre, and even then, I'm not convinced that 150mm depth is necessary any longer, not when we lay on a proper bed and rely on sound jointing.

Anyhow, new cropped 603 should be around 80-110 quid per tonne; hammered/picked 603 around 130 quid/tonne; and reclaimed 130-150 quid/tonne.

£160.00 per tonne, reclaimed, sorted and in bags, very good setts with nice wear.

They are 'approx' 150mm deep probably more like 125 (ish)

I did ask how much, then thought about the last time i needed some of this particular type and the miles driven and hours of hunting involved and thought well...i need them.

Havent a clue Tony as to what they are, ill post pics when done, you know the reclaimed granite cubes that seem to be really common round here? Well like them but twice as long and a bit deeper.

The other two bags are the same size and blue/black in colour no speckle colouration to them, all solid colour.
