New drivway drainage

Hi

Last week my new drive was finished and sealed last Friday, all look good and I was happy with the job. That was untill last night as was the first real day of rain fall.
I came home to pools of water on the drive and the new front path starting to look like it was under water. Am i right in getting back on to them to sort this out or it it part of the course of having PIC.
Hope the link works, have added what looked like on Friday and what it looked like last night.
Also ith it being newly sealed the drive sessm to be wet alot longer than say next doors etc and holdes standing water more, I will try to get more pictures to show what I mean.

Your contractor has clearly not considered the required drainage. It appears that the surface does have falls to shed water but nowhere for this water to go and so where it hits the flowerbed at the side and the flowerbed is higher the the drive level it just sits there very slowly soaking into it.

Its usually acceptable to drain small paths etc into a flowerbed or lawn but a driveway is a different matter and you should have been advised about this before work began.

Falling towards a bed that is higher than the surface is pretty stupid. Its all very basic stuff and perhaps slightly worrying.

You need to address it with the contractor

your driveway is PIC
it looks a fair job but there should not be water laying anywhere
the flower bed at the pooling point needs to be reduced to say 30-50mm below the drive so the water can drain

did they put a linear drain in between the drive and the pavement?
this has been the law now since 2008

Sorry I should of said I had my driveway and front path done, the issue is with the path in front of house not the driveway, The soil it flows to is bad, It dose clear about 30mins after it stops raining.so If I lowered the soil that should sort it my? mate said about putting a soak away in but is that a bit of an overkill?
