Hi
First time poster so please go easy ;)

I am currently in the middle of a massive makeover on my garden which will ultimately involve retaining walls, concrete bases in various places, decking, levelling an 80sqm lawn etc etc.

The question I have at the moment is as follows: -

I have to build a 6m dog run, we have the base pretty much set out and our intention was to finish it with a concrete base, the measurements are 6m X 1.6m, we have filled with MOT to about 250mm. Now i'm tempted to just finish with 2x3 concrete flags instead of the hassle (and cost) of ordering the concrete which would be about 1 cubic metre.

Can I lay the flags straight onto the MOT or should I lay some sand first ?

Should I stop being tight and get it concreted ?

Can the concrete be laid at only 10mm thickness ? How much am I looking at to have that qty supplied and poured ?

100mm C25-28 Concrete with an Air entrained additive. (this will be about 20 wheelbarrows)

A193 steel reinforcement

Once poured use a disc cutter and cut the slab into two section, cut to a depth of at least 30mm, then use a sealant to protect to joint.

Get it done right and it will be fit for purpose and last.
