Best way to lay textured buff bradstones?

Cos they are all exactly the same dimensions I was thinking of screeding the bed. Like kinda compartmentalising areas with formwork and screeding a 40mm thick mortar bed over the sub and laying. Then rinse and repeat.

Not sure. Used to laying different thicknesses of stones where each one is levelled individually.

Any advice would be as always greatly appreciated!

Oh btw Luton. Started eating porridge every morning as per you advice. Now love the stuff and eat it by the gallon. Put on over a stone in weight. Nearly 180lbs now.

set up 2 lines ,then use a further line and lay to the line
i would use a drier mix than normal
I dont really like screeded beds as every time i see it used there is always a failure somewhere

Ah you mean an x axis line a y axis line and then a parrel line to which ever axis you decide to run with first!?

say the patio is 4 metres out from the house
1 line along the house at 150 below dpc
2nd line 4 metres away at 200mm below dpc (need a laser or summat for this)
then a line for every course,each course measured for 455 or 610 or whatever flags you are using

Aha it becomes clear! I'm gonna be buying a laser levelling kit. I'll do a thread on it asking for advice on the best one for not loads of money.

This patio is going to be far away from the house in the top left hand corner of the garden spanning 7m x 7m with a big curve cut out of it. I was thinking of having my cross fall towards the curve leading towards the grass area. I think this would be the correct thing to do!? As in, from the corner point get my 1:80 diagonally 45 degrees from the corner toward the curve. Would that be correct?

My other question is.... how exactly to I get a perfect right angle with respect to the positioning of the house and garden? I thought I could mark out the area as a triangle and measure it out until I got that ratio 3:4:5 I think it is so I know my angles are exact and if it looks right, it looks right???
