Hi there I have a job to do and I no I can do the work but have prob with the maths wise off it but I have a 60 square meter of slabs to lay and how I work it out:
3 ton of sand
2 tone of ballest
20 cerment

Put the ballest down and waker plate it down then put some sand down then mix some cerment up with the sand its for the back garden and it use as easy to pick up dog foul
Was ratio do u use as I have ask loads of ppl and they tell me all diffrent but I would use 4 sand and 2 cerment is that rite

dale you really need to have a good read of this
the reason nobody has answered is because the technique you describe is all wrong

for 60m2 of slabs i would spec
dig out 150mm
install 10 tonne of type 1 and wack to refusal
lay slabs on a 6:1 grit sand : cement mix
4 tonnes of sand and 20 cement needed
you would need 2, 6 yard skips to do it my way

good luck

I've already told him to read the website, but it seems he'd rather have someone write it all out for him yet again.
