Hi.

I have purchased a house and half the drive is basketweave paved. I need to pave the other half and have purchased enough blocks (taken up from another drive in favour of a grey brick, for some reason. quality seems good though, and have been laid a few years)) to cover the entire area. The bricks I have are red and beige and match almost exactly the ones that are already laid on my drive. I would like to take up whats there and start again useing a herringbone pattern but do not have enough bricks to do it in a solid colour. Do you have any suggestions on how to mix the bricks, should I do a large pattern filled in beige? Or how may it look randomising the bricks, I have never seen photos of this and feel it may look scrappy?
Any thoughts or pictures would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.
Simon.

Currently thinking along the lines of a solid red 90% herringbone, with a large solid beige pattern (maybe double diamond). Any thoughts or ideas?
Cheers.

Am I right in thinking you have two colors of blocks, a red block and a 'beige' block?

If so, the simplest option is to use alternate blocks. In a herringbone, use all reds for the headers (or stretchers) and all beige for the stretchers (or headers) ... or am I mistaken in thinking the colour ratio isn't 1:1??
