sorry i should have quantified the cheapness thing
if i employ men on a living wage (which i do) so they all take home a wage on which they can live rather than just exist and none of them are signing on then I have a fixed cost for labour

then things like skips, sand ,type 1 are pretty much a fixed cost

so when i price and add my paltry profit which incidentally has to cover running costs etc the price i give is a fair price to do the job correctly

so for someone to wildly undercut me (which happens) they either have slave, illegal or underpaid labour
they are stealing materials
or they are not going to do the job correctly

or a combo of all 3

and then the above happens, and its a load of grief for the client, who then has to pay for the job to be rectified, which costs more than the original price

Yes, he made us buy four 25kg tubs of geofix. What's wrong with them?

MSH Paving has offered to come over on Monday to give us a quote, as he mentioned above. No offence to MSH but I want to be as thorough as I can this time. Is there anyone who can recommend any other pavers who covers Norfolk?

I would have thought that you would have had more than 1 quote/estimate in the start.

What I would do is see what is said on Monday as you need to know what's needed to be done to rectify it, and as already said it all needs restarting, but most of all the specification of the job...

Mark is a moderator on this site so I would say that speaks volumes.
