I have read fully (or at least I think I have) the Pavingexpert website on gravel drives and I haven't found anything on the use of plastic reinforcement grids for use below the gravel.
Do you have an opinion about whether it is essential?
Is it installed to improve drainage or to stabilise the gravel from "migrating"?

about half dozen posts away is a thread on this very subject. I can't direct you there as i'm on a crap phone, ironically having a crap at the same time (to much infomation there ) :) scroll down to it. There are for and against arguments but as the boss says: proper construction layers is a must. It will drain because it is stone/shingle, so migrating is the one you need to look to. at work so my time is limited but hope this helps. Good luck.
