Hello everyone,

I am new to this site and I am seeking some advise please.

I have just had part of my back garden block paved to create a patio area.

I have three plastic air bricks and I have just noticed that the company who laid the pavers have half covered one air brick and completely covered the other one! Leaving only one completely above the patio, all the pavers abut the house.

As you can appreciate I am a little concerned.

The house is a new build 1 year old, I can see that the DPM sits on top of the vent.

Can I have your thoughts please, will this be a problem for me.

Thanks

2 golden rules of paving

all paving 150mm below DPC

never cover an airbrick, they are there for a reason

I dont know who or why they did it but they are unlikely to return and rip it all up

a work around would be to install a gully surround or similar to free up the airbricks

Hello again here are some pictures.

The DPM is sat on top of the vent, the builder has said he will be back and will remove the pavers that cover/obscure the vents and replace with gravel is this ok, or do ALL pavers that abut the house need to be removed.

Any advise would appreciated

looks like you have a tray installed so height isnt an issue
just need to unblock the vents
