Somebody to lay my cobbles ! midlands...

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Hi all

Can anyone recommend somebody who can lay me a cobblestone pathway please, Coventry way, or Birmingham/Leicester?

I've got a path that needs laying, and my expertise/time is somewhat lacking...

I'll stick some photos up when it's done - these cobbles were dug up from an 1890's house in Wigan...

Thanks in advance

you get what you pay for kiddy guy

most on here, are blokes who do quality installations

if you read through the site ,why not try it yourself?

a lot of DIYers have achieved some fantastic results with a little

support from the forum :)

Hi there

Unfortunately I wouldn't class myself as a DIY-er! So chances of me giving it a go as it's going to require some substantial digging out are nil I'm afraid...

well k g, you either pay someone like mick, who does a proper job, done once. Or you pay the do as you likeys' and get a shit job done. Money well spent with people off this site. The choice is yours.

Hi all

I'm near Coventry.

Just to clarify - it's not that I don't want to pay for a good job, as if it's a bad job, you'll end up paying twice.

The only reason I said that they look pricey is that they predominantly do very high end swimming pool jobs and clearly are for people with serious money with marble surrounds and the like...I just want some cobbles laying.

That said I have contacted them and am waiting for a quote.

Cheers Guy

most on here Guy, do what comes
so this week we are working at a 2 bed semi ,next week a 6 bed monster house on an acre plot
the business model and pricing strategy are the same

the way i work its labour+ materials + 20% gross profit

regardless of anything else

keeps us busy

The long and short of this is... materials cost, muck away, profit margin. no one works for free.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I'm glad that I don't need to keep repeating the fact that I want a professional job :;):

I think the point I was trying to make is that nobody would go to the local Ferrari dealership for an oil change on their Ford Focus.

Happy to pay for a good job. Just one that is relative to the requirement...That said Mick looks like he's going to be able to help me out so...

In all seriousness, to all thanks for the help. I'll post some photos when done.
