Hi ,i have an area 340 sqm graded with 803, which requires double soldier course in concrete, beding sand, 200x100x50 bricks, laid and jointed. Any idea of what sort of price i should expect from local contractors in the south west ?????

Unsure where in the South West you are ?. I have been getting prices etc from BMs in the Plymouth Area and the best price I have so far is Palladium in Burrington Way Honicknowle Plymouth who have them at 23p each ( B&Q 22p each ). Palladium will give a better price for quantities if you haggle. They have a standard delivery of only £5:00, B&Q could be up to £20:00 but free if order over £400:00. I have tried BMs from Truro to the other side of Exeter. Trago Mills at Newton Abbott and Liskeard are cheaper but the quality of the Pavers/Bricks look very poor.

I hope this is of help.

P.S. If someone has found a better/cheaper place I would be interested.

To supply and lay 200x100x50mm CBPs on 40mm zone 2 Class M sand - reckon on summat in the region of 25 quid per square metre. It could be as low as 20, but at this time of year, when all the good contractors are busy, you'd be lucky.

Note to envious homeowners: this estimated price does NOT include excavation and the provision of the sub-base (the 803 mentioned in Walsh's post)

Hi Tony thanks for the information, prices so far have ranged from £30 - £45, so all strong, could be time of year and they are all very busy.
