Hi I am starting a self build house which has internal soil pipes that have to be brought through a 250mm reinforced ground bearing slab. The pipe will exit through the foundation walls underneath a lintel but I am struggling to find details of what is required when bringing the pipe through the concrete slab.
Does anyone have details of this please?
Cheers
Mike

Hi Tony,
Yep have checked part H but the detail is in appendix A9-17 special circumstances which appears to be a very elusive document!!.
It also appears that our pipes will need to emerge part way through the side of the slab due to the height of the existing drainage. do you know if this is possible?

A9??? Where's that?
I suppose you could use a variation on the standard design used in Sewers for Adoption 5th ed. Fig 9, where the pipe penetrating the concrete has at least one (preferably two) rocker pipes upstream and downstream of the concrete encased pipe.
Your BCO will have to say exactly what it is they'll accept, though. They may ask you to supply a design proposal, but, in many cases they outline (verbally) what they'd like to see and you build accordingly.
