We are looking for a suitable material for a new driveway. A quick tour of the neighbourhood reveals about 60% of block paving drives (some only a couple of years old) have developed significant dips. I can't believe that they all used shoddy installers so perhaps the ground is just not suitable. Would using setts on a concrete base be more likely to resist the dips?
Any recommendations for a respected installer in the Southend-on-Sea area would be appreciated.

a door knocker may have called and done a few in one hit. in which case, shoddy workmanship.

More often than not, they haven't been dug out deep enough.
