there s a hell of a lot to be said for the old 'tricks of the trade'!! they didnt have technology, just had to work it out and have a good ole memory i suppose!
it was this time lasy yr me and shaun were sat in a pub on a fri evening, sunburnt!! the old farmers mate at the bar piped up and said the fields were too hard and dry to roll, and that we could just do with 2 inches of rain.................!!!
Since that day, it aint bleeding stopped!

calculated risk then, hve you got any insulation lieing around tha you could cover the slabs with and then hessian sheet over the insulation, saw highways out repairing a stone bridge over a canal and they'd covered it in cavitiy wall insulation and hessian.

Yer tell me about it, I've just been doing what virgin could not.ilovesettsonmondays wrote:Cold here in Essex today . Hit the gas this morn . Been waiting 3 hours to be fixed . Might be a blessing in disguise . At least we are warm in the van .
They was supposed to put Internet in but wanted to take my drive up to run the cable, I told them it was already there, so they sent 2 guys to connect it they dug the pavement, but could not find my connection to go onto so then cancelled the job.
This is what I found when I dug it up this morning ( I know I'm on the pavement law breaking )
You can see the black trunking with the wires in that goes under my drive...
All done now

Thanks guys deep down I knew it was right but like I say it grates at me especially when you see others carrying on. On way back from merchants this morning saw a general builder with mixer set up and I assume he was going to carry on with the brickwork on the extension he was on.
Its nice to know that other people would have made the same decision. Thanks
