Hi guys, I'm getting my patio done which is 32m2. I'm after slabs which are fairly uniform in colour ( light cream). I've been looking at stonemarket haus dune smooth which is a reconstituted stone. Is there a natural stone option available, any advice would be very helpful

Thanks

Mark

We laid some few years ago, nightmare with staining and algae as it was a soft stone.

Unless you live by the med and don't have pets, kids, males around. BBQ stains etc

What slabs did you lay groundworks? I'm probably going to go for beige sandstone and then seal them hopefully won't be to bad. I've got artificial grass so it doesn't get muddy

Your looking at fossil mint if you want a sand stone, but as Giles says they are quite soft and absorb basically anything that touches them!

Hi, Is fossil mint a lighter colour than beige sandstone from London stone? Does it still stain if you seal them.

Fossil mint is a sandstone with lots of colour variation, its also a riven sandstone. I get the impression that chilks is looking for a sawn paving with a consistent colour.
The beige sandstone needs sealing and is the lightest one we do

Hi London. I contacted you today and spoke to one of your girls. I'm waiting for a price she said it should be tomorrow or Monday. Glad I caught you on here. I'm looking at the 560 x 280 size slabs in beige. What size joint would you recommend. Can you buy spacers to keep the joints the same as in tiling. Once the beige slabs are sealed are they fairly good to maintain and keep clean. What is the extra to get them pre sealed roughly on 35m2. What colour joint do you recommend

Thanks in advance

The 560x280 is not a stock size in the beige. The closest rectangle we do in the beige is 600x400. Are you fixed on the 560x280 size?

Joints should be minimum 6-8mm. You can use spacers if you want to but most people don't bother. A white or light grey coloured grout suits this stone best in my opinion

Even when you seal the beige it still requires maintenance, but sealing makes the maintenance easier.

It's a light coloured stone so its going to pick up some marks but its best to let it weather a bit.

No. The girl told me these sizes. I thought 600 x 400 was the size going by your website.

600x400 is the size, maybe she made a mistake. We had a new girl start this week, so I can only assume she got her wires crossed

That's fine no problem. Can you give me a quote online now or do I have to wait for one of your sales team to get back to me.

What would you call regular maintenance on beige sandstone. So by letting it weather a bit does this mean not sealing it straight away
