Looks shocking. After laying nobody has taken a step back to look at it from a distance and adjust any of the slabs so they don't look wavey and all over the place.

Is there a shabby chic or distressed look for paving?
It's almost if they actually went out and made a special point of making it look like that.

Only glanced at it yesterday, looked at it more closely today. 1:12 looks like levels are all over the place, it's natural stone but some of the slabs look like they have corners laid too low,
A lot of +'s, at 1:37 in the video can spot a dozen of them right away. At 1:46 five of the same slab laid in a row doesn't look right.

"Unique. Romesque"
I guess it does look like it was laid 2000 years ago.

Probably paid a fortune for the stone. Would be disappointed in the laying whatever their labour costs.
I wouldn't be happy unless that was laid to Cookie's or MickG standard.

Your probably not wrong about his knowledge, and same here if I was asked to do something like that id have to walk away, at least after trying to educate them a bit if it seemed like a good idea at the time!

I think they like the rustic look in the USA. I'm constantly drawn to the brick work I see on American cop shows on TV. No gagging of joins, mortar squidged out of perps.
If your a pish poor paver, you'll make a fortune over there :D :D
