. My question is - some of the gaps between the flags are quite large, about 3/4 of an inch, some are non-existant and everything in-between, what would we use to point them, we would like a dark steel grey colour that is hardwearing. We have cleaned them with a stone cleaner and they have come up really well and raked out all the old mortar, after grouting we intend on sealing with a Thompsons sealer, I was told about Rompox but this has large granules in it which would not be suitable for some of the gaps but was interested in the resin ingredient. Whatever you do, dont use Thompsons sealant. Its a cheap and nasty sealant which once applied will completety change the appearance of the natural stone that you have uncovered. I would use dry treat, it penetrates much deeper into the stone and protects the stone better for a lot longer than anything else out there. For pointing go for easipoint, they have a black colour or a dark grey

The VDW 840+ has a much finer particle size and is very much black rather than dark grey or charcoal
