Not at all it's a case of being informed the product was new when asked (as it was in a tatty box in the shop)

But it's clearly not new and also the sales assistant has written "graded" on the receipt.

Might be cheaper and less hassle to accept their offer of a replacement TV.

i have a feeling that graded counts as new
graded means ex display, something that was faulty then fixed or old stock
as i knew i got a hefty discount and am very happy ,mind you if they didnt say it was graded i wouldnt have known
wouldnt bother my ass with T.direct
have ordered stuff that was good money then they emailed me to say they didnt have it!!!
I like argos,no quibble money back guarantee on any faulty goods

Tony that's what graded is, if I was told it was then I would have a choice to buy it or leave the store

Ok I took it back today and the same guy that sold me the tv was adamant he told us it was a graded item it was a Panasonic TX-P50UT30B and I paid £550 for the tv and £50 for a wall bracket.

I said to the guy lets not go there and let's just sort this out, I purchased a new tv and its a new tv I want.

He then offered me a Panasonic TX-P50XT50B and my bracket at the same price, we accepted this and took the tv home.

The name of the company is hyperfi address is 10-14 eastern avenue, Romford, Essex, RM1 4DR, telephone 01708 760 777

And they are on the web to http://www.hyperfi.co.uk

I personally would not return to the store, but you decide for yourself.

Thanks for all your help and advice

Simon

Sounds a little underhand, but glad you got it sorted in the end. :)

I think it is to but glad to finally have what I paid for, a new tv.

Also I think it's time to apply for a credit card as you have more rights with one of them.

Good TV's Panasonic. I've got the UT30.

For future reference, John Lewis do the best deals on TVs. 5 year guarantee with them, best customer service, they price match and they actually pay tax

Carberry, totally agree. We bought our TV from John Lewis, it was a little bit more expensive than other places (wish I had known about the price match thing!) but I decided it was worth it because they're a decent company and whenever I have had problems before they have put it right, no quibbles.
