I was woken up this morning by a supposed delivery man! I took the parcel, and signed for it!

It was a free men health magazine, with a letter asking if id like to subscribe visit the web address.

The address is www.monthly-subscriptions.co.uk which doesn't exist, now I'm worried!

I did notice when going to the door he was looking at the above windows and roof.

A big wall and dog won't help if it's identity fraud.
So they have your name, address and a signature which I would've thought is not enough for identity fraud.
What they really need is bank statements and utility bills.
Just be on your guard, make sure the postman is able to post your mail through the door rather than an external post box and you'll be ok.

Sounds a bit paranoid to me. Surely there are easier ways to steal peoples identities than knocking on a door pretending to be a postman.

I had mither with this a couple of years back, you dont need a lot of info to open on-line accounts with pay-day loan type sites and on-line bookies

Spoke to a copper in the midlands about this and he said face book is the biggest source of info, most women have their married name, maiden name and date of birth on there.

Haha!

The lady at actionfraud suggests no company these days would get you to sign a peace of paper, as its all computerised.

Ill be one of those curtain twitchers soon and writing everyones reg plate and times and dates etc!! With a direct line to the police.

Bodgit sign yourself up to cifas http://www.cifas.org.uk/

£14 a year and if anyone including yourself tries to use credit a red flag goes up and they ask for more info such as utility bills etc.....

Bit of a pain if you want to walk in a shop and get something like a new phone tarrif but it stops people running debt up in your name, and after 12 months you dont have to sign up again if you dont want to.

Maybe you have actually subscribed to the magazine by signing for it and they will write and ask for the payment or something on those lines

I used to carry my mate with a news paper over his face for early penny for guy beers ... It worked better after September and tapered off mid November ;)
