Bid and Destroy. New program on National Geographic channel.
A mix of demolition and antiques / bric brac.

Watched 4 episodes back to back last night. Quite enjoyed it !

Demolition contractors make bids to demolish houses / factories etc in New England, USA. They are not allowed inside to view. Only what they see from outside. Any treasures they find they keep.
Sometimes it works out good for them as they find some good stuff. Other times there is not much inside and they working for cost on the demo.

Alos been watching Mountain Men.

I much prefer these types of programs than the typical British soaps etc.

Was'nt keen on it, i think storage wars and salvage hunters is a lot better. Pawn stars and American pickers ok to. All on history channel.

Sometimes I can help but think these programmes are fixed with what is in the lockup/houses.

I like to do a bit of 'Urbexing' in my spare time and a few of the guys have taken photos of abandoned factories in Europe. The 'Brant' biscuit factory in Germany is almost as if it is ready to run. All the machines are still in there, albeit a bit rusty. Theres even a workers train still parked up under the factory. It would be a gold mine to a scrappie.

Watched a few storage wars over weekend. That Brandi is a piece of work. Her and her hubby are a right pair !

Also caught an episode of salvage hunters. Enjoyed that.

Dont want you all to think I watch a lot of TV. If I get 20 mins to sit down , I like to watch interesting stuff.

The smoke stack felling on Bid and Destroy was a bit scary. I dont think health and safety exist in the USA !!,
Relying on the excavators to push the stack in right direction whilst fabricators cut off bolts. If it went wrong, 2 excavators and adjoining building crushed
